Honoring the American Spirit on 4th of July
As the Fourth of July comes around, please remember why our nation’s spirit is so strong. It is because of the sacrifice made by so many generations of servicemen, women and their families. They have defended and protected the American spirit - our democratic values, freedom, and generosity.
We have many issues at the forefront today, but we still have men and women serving overseas, families who continue to make immense sacrifices for us, and suicide is still a pressing issue for our veterans. Do not forget them. Remember them and honor them on our nation’s independence. Celebrate the 4th of July with friends and families, but take a moment to recognize why the American spirit is so unique.
I created The American Soldier as an acting project ten years or so ago to give people a real understanding of sacrifice. But over the years, it has become something much bigger. It has taught me what sacrifice means and how blessed we are as a nation. That so many men and women of every race and religion are willing to put on the uniform and fight for us, and even give the ultimate sacrifice for us. And I believe if our nation were attacked again or tested like it was in 9/11, you would have thousands of young men and women rushing to her defense.
Thank you to all our men and women who have served and who continue to serve our nation. Thank you for putting your life on hold for us and for your sacrifice!
Happy 4th of July America!
