The End of rehearsal - Solo Show

This past Thursday I finally finished rehearsals for the first part of my solo show. I was pretty nervous and anxious throughout the whole process. I thought that I would never be able to get it all up but I did. And now I have to be honest, I feel pretty confident about the show.  The biggest nerve I had was if I was going to be able to get all these lines in and actually make this show interesting, ok, getting all the lines was the biggest worry. But as I rehearsed the show more and more, my confidence grew and grew. We rehearsed 3 days a week for 3 hours per day. I think we probably could have rehearsed more but in someway, we had the right amount as I was getting pretty tired by the end of the week.

- This last week which was the final week of performance, was the most tiring, especially the last day. I would look at my lines before rehearsals, during rehearsal after rehearsal and before I went to bed so needless to say, I was waxed from looking at  my lines. When you do a solo show like this, it really takes a huge emotional and physical commitment to do it right and to build your confidence for the show. You can't really get lazy with it or you won't have the work ready when you need it to be ready.

My first real workshop performance of the solo show is this Monday at the Bowery Poetry Club, yikes! I will let you know how it goes on Tuesday. : )
